Heels and a Dress (3 of 30)

Dress: Thrifted, $3
Necklace: Target, $6
Heels: Steve Madden via Dillards, $30
Bag: Really old
Sunglasses: Forever 21, $5

I'm kind of in love with these heels.  And they kind of kill my feet.  But I love them anyways.  I also love this dress, and it was 1/10 the price of my shoes, which is pretty darn cool in my mind.

** Also, I wore technical #3 yesterday, but it rained and I couldn't take pictures, which is fine with me because the outfit wasn't that cool anyways.

A New Job and a Blogger Swap

Dress: Target, $40
Belt: Swap with Ramsey
Shoes: Walmart, $10

Today was one of those really good days.  It wasn't filled with hanging out with tons of friends or shopping to my hearts content- but the realization of how incredibly blessed I am to have so many opportunities in front of me.  Mainly speaking of my 2 summer internships, the second of which I started today!

Internship 1 is the same job as last year, as an assistant in the TN state 4-H Office.  4-H is a youth development organization that is seriously filled with fun, friends, competitions, and allll kinds of good stuff.   I was really involved in 4-H during my high school years, so to be able to be paid to do all of the things I used to love doing as a participant is simply amazing.  Everyday is different in this job, and I actually travel alot, which is awesome.  Some days I'm teaching sessions on anything from sewing to leadership skills (and making up my own curriculum!) and other days I'm working with social media and alumni affairs.

Because this is already a longer than normal post, I'll hold off and write about internship 2 tomorrow.  But just a tad bit to hold you over- I get to work with all spectrums of marketing with both West Town and Knoxville Center Malls.  And what does my long term assignment book look like?  Organizing the mall's own back to school fashion show and Fashion Night Out.  Incredible?  Yes.

Last thing today... Did you notice my awesome little belt via swap with Ramsey??  We're doing a little blogger swap, which you will be seeing more of in the next little bit.  I'm so excited to see what she comes up with for the things I sent her.  And if you haven't seen her blog before (which you should have)  then go right now.  Seriously.  She puts together the most amazing outfits, all on a college girl budget!

Back Again

Dress: Urban Outfitters, $20
Cardigan: Charlotte Russe, $20
Shoes: Chinese Laundry via TJ Maxx, $20
Belt: Vintage from mom

Goodness I apologize for that break of blogging.  Again, I honestly didn't mean to.  It just kinda happened...  But anyways, I hope you all had a wonderful easter (I'll post pictures of mine tomorrow!) I just finished the drive from Knoxville to Pittsburgh and I'm a bit dead at the moment, so I'm going to make this post short and sweet.

Goodnight all :)

Polka Dot Tights- Attempt 3.

{Dress: Forever 21, $20}
{Cardigan: J. Crew, $15}
{Tights: Urban Outfitters, gift}
{Flats: Target, $9}
{Pearl Necklace: Puerto Rico, 50¢}
{Chain Necklace: Forever 21, $6}

Greg's always been willing to help with blogging/outfits/etc., but he's usually a little hesitant- especially when it comes to taking pictures in overly populated areas. And once he confessed he didn't always read what I wrote on my blog, but just liked to look at the pictures I always gave him a hard time. So can you imagine my surprise (and excitedness!) when I received these polka dot tights in the mail, compliments of Greg. He actually had been reading my blog- not just looking at pictures, and when he read that my favorite polka dot tights (pair two...) had finally died, he had a new pair sent. Isn't that cute? I think I'll keep him ;)

Bare Legs and a New Watch

{Dress: H&M, $5}
{Top: T. J. Maxx, $9}
{Necklace: Forever 21, $5}
{Flats: Forever 21, $9}
{Watch: Target, gift}
{Rings: Silpada, $45}
I understand that every blogger out there is talking about the weather. But oh my goodness it's SO nice! It hovered around 60ยบ today. SIXTY. In February. In Pittsburgh. I'm overjoyed.

On to subjects other than the weather... Do you ever get a gift that you're unsure whether you like or not, and then a few weeks down the road all of the sudden realize you're in love with it? Well that's what happened with me and this watch. My aunt, who is pretty much one of the best gift givers ever, got it for me for Christmas but because I never ever wear watches I just wasn't sure how I felt about it. Yesterday night as I was putting up jewelry ** See below** I came across it and for some reason felt completely different about it... and then proceeded to plan an outfit around it. Yep, I do that.

^This is the reason I was cleaning/still need to clean. This is my desk. Good thing I don't need it for anything other than a shelf for the next few days.... Note though- all of these clothes (and cheer uniform, terrible towel, scarf, TOMs, etc) are clean. They just haven't seemed to find their way back to their own place yet.

Thank You, Rain Snow Mix.

{Dress: Target, $35}
{Cardigan: Gap, $10}
{Tights: WeLoveColors.com, $10}
{Flats: Target, $9}
{Necklace: American Eagle, Gift}

Since I have to open the coffeeshop on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I love getting to sleep in a little bit on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You would think that those days I would have the most put together outfits due to the extra hours of wake up time. Nope. Apparently I like sleeping in so much that I physically refuse to wake up more than 40 minutes before my first class. Go figure. So what do I do when I have less than 20 min to get ready (in order to leave time for walking and last minute homework) AND are smack in the middle of no pants week... Pick a printed dress and add some solids. The end.

Also, I just want to thank the weather for being awful and rain/snowy today. No, seriously. Because instead of admitting to people I barely woke up in time to brush my hair, much less straighten it, I can blame it on the weather. So thank you, dang snow, for "ruining my hair today." ;)

Nice People.

{Dress: H&M, $5}
{Tights: WeLoveColors.com, $10}
{Jacket: Forever 21, $30}
{Boots: Belk's, $35}
{Necklace: American Eagle, gift}
{Gloves: gift}

I love nice people. And when nice people go out of their way to be extra nice, well that just makes my day. On Friday I spent some time talking to the nicest man at the coffeeshop I work at. I mentioned that I hadn't actually made time to go out and get gloves for myself since I'm not used to needing them... And today the same man left me this little package of gloves at the coffeeshop. How nice was that?!

Also, this week I'm taking Haley's challenge to be pantsless! Looks like I'll be layering up on the tights and leggings all week...

Catch up!

My 30 for 30 is finished and over the next couple days I'm going to try and get up pictures from the last half in which I didn't have a camera. Also, although I'm a little disappointed in my lack of blogging, I think it paid off in the long run, I made an A in my Chinese class AND Dean's list. I hope everyone's Holiday week has started out good too!

So here's the first batch of catch up outfits...

PRO: See the bare legs and sheer tights?! Yay for East Tennessee weather!
CON: See the lack of jewelry? It's because I accidentally left all but TWO necklaces in my dorm in Pittsburgh. Apparently my face was pretty priceless when I realized that... well I know what I'll be begging for during Christmas- cheap jewelry.
