To prove that I'm still here...

Here is a picture from the other day.  My sweet little updo is courtesy of LoveMeagan.com, and that sweet little car is courtesy of my padre.  But seriously.   Explanation/pictures to come!

This may just be my favorite outfit

Skirt: Old Navy, $20
Top: J.Crew, $30
Wedges: Modcloth, $25
Bag: Coach, thrifted
Necklace: Forever 21, $5
Watch: Thrifted, $2
Bangles: Rue 21, $1
Belt: NY & Co., $4

You know the feeling you get when you put on an outfit you absolutely LOVE?  I had that feeling all day long when I wore this.  And honestly, I don't remember the last time so many people have commented on it- everyone wanted to know where my skirt was from!

I've had this skirt for at least 3 years, and probably worn it less than 3 times.  It's not that I don't love it- rather, it's that sometimes it's hard to wear this skirt in a non-grandma type of way.  Lucky for me, Ashley styled it up for the EBEW floral challenge.  I loved the way she wore it so much, I seriously wore this the very next day.

I think I need to rediscover more items from the back of my closet.  Surprisingly, it was more satisfying than wearing something new... this time at least.

Hello Summer!

{Skirt: H&M, $17}
{Top: Loft, thrifted, $2}
{Wedges: American Eagle, $20}
{Necklace: Gift}

Wow.  I never intended to take that long off blogging.  But it did pay off- I made As in every class except my hardest one, and I still made a pretty good grade in there too :)

I hope everyone's summer is getting off to a good start.  I get to start my 2 internships as soon as I get my wisdom teeth out (ughhhhhhh.) Until then, I'm just getting some unpacking done and finishing up some random loose ends.  Here's to getting back to regular blogging again!

Hello High Heels

{Dress: Old Navy, $4}
{Sweater: Old Navy, $9}
{Tights: American Eagle, $3}
{Scarf: Old Navy, $9}
{Necklace: Forever 21, gift}
{Shoes: Target, $12}

Although I wore heels almost everyday in high school, I could count on one hand the amount of times I've pulled out a pair for classes in college. Not that I'm terrible with walking in heels- but the over casualness of my school has gotten me to choose comfort 9 times out of 10. Like this outfit (not including the shoes), the dress might very well have been meant to be worn as a nightgown and the sweater is pretty much just a blanket with sleeves. Oh yes, this is a Friday outfit.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Prices

My hair was big earlier. Who knows why... Examples to follow.

{Dress: H&M, $5}
{Leggings: Target, $6}
{Boots: Belk, $35}
{Scarf: American Eagle, $10}
{Necklaces: American Eagle, gifts}
{Rings: Silpada, $45 for 5}

Something weird today- my rings are the most expensive thing I have on (and not really even that expensive all things considered.) I used to flat out refuse to buy anything that wasn't A) on super sale or B) really cheap. This led me to very much of a quantity vs. quality type of wardrobe. Don't get me wrong, I don't buy bad clothes, and I truly do love everything I wear. But now that I've amassed this large quantity driven closet, I'm starting to look at things with a bit more scrutiny than usual- and I'm starting to be willing to pay more for things I know will last (and sometimes splurge on things I just love.) Of course I'm still focused on finding great deals- thrifting! Woohoo! But don't be super surprised if every once and awhile you see an item that I bought for a little more money than normal.

Side note- I like showing the price of things because I get excited about good deals, and I like being honest about how much I paid for an outfit for your reference. I've never really gotten feedback about it before, so let me know- do you like seeing prices listed or are you not too fond of it?

Here We Go (Steelers!)

{Top: Old Navy, $4}
{Jeans: TJ Maxx, $20}
{Blazer: H&M, $20}
{Belt: J. Crew, $14}
{Flats: Target, $12}
{Necklace: gift}
{Bracelets: random}

Thanks for sticking around while I jinxed myself with sickness. Haha... but seriously, I've spent probably 90% of the past few days asleep. Knock on wood, I think I'm finally getting over it. Thank goodness for weekends! Please excuse this super quick post, but living in Pittsburgh I feel obliged to get off the computer and cheer for the home team- hence the black and gold for today's outfit.

Go Steelers!
