Camera charger is still lost... at the moment I'm considering just buying another one.  Anyone have any experience with that?  Can I just go to best buy or something??

This chambray dress is from Target, listed online for $24.99, but on clearance in stores for $6!  Although it's not super impressing by itself, it's super cute with a belt and cardigan for fall. 

Anyone heard of EyesLipsFace.com?  Ahmazing.  All of their things are incredibly cheap price wise, but defintately not the typical dollar makeup quality wise.  I spent $25 (to get free shipping) and got 17 items.  I haven't had a chance to try them all out yet, but I can tell you that I'm 100% sold on the $3 cream eyeliner.

I had been looking for a cute keychain, and found this little wristlet on etsy.com (scarfingitup)  for a total- shipping and all- of $4.  It arrived super fast and is even better in person.  So if you need a cheap little gift (stocking stuffers anyone?)  I would highly reccommend this little etsy shop.  They sell dog collars and bandanas as well!

Two things you must do this weekend:

1. Go to Clinique in Dillards.  They are having a promotion that gives you free makeup samples if you let them do your makeup for free.  Recap: Free makeover+Free items and absolutely NO purchase necessary= a very happy me.  (While you're there, you should check out there shoe section- they're having that massive sale right. now.)  

2.  Go check out Gap.  I went in today and no lie- half the store was clearance.  Not only were there a ridiculous amount of super low cost items- it was an ADDITIONAL 40% off.  I got a dress, a pair of flare jeans, and three tops for... $50 TOTAL. Awesome? yep.

This is what happens when my boyfriend goes out of town for an entire month.  There's nobody to keep me in check with this whole shopping thing.  After all, what decent friend is going to say, "No.  You should not get that $4 top that fits you perfect and will go with everything."  

If you do know of anybody that actually would say that, please send them my way- I need them.... or not.

Something weird today- my rings are the most expensive thing I have on (and not really even that expensive all things considered.) I used to flat out refuse to buy anything that wasn't A) on super sale or B) really cheap. This led me to very much of a quantity vs. quality type of wardrobe. Don't get me wrong, I don't buy bad clothes, and I truly do love everything I wear. But now that I've amassed this large quantity driven closet, I'm starting to look at things with a bit more scrutiny than usual- and I'm starting to be willing to pay more for things I know will last (and sometimes splurge on things I just love.) Of course I'm still focused on finding great deals- thrifting! Woohoo! But don't be super surprised if every once and awhile you see an item that I bought for a little more money than normal.

Side note- I like showing the price of things because I get excited about good deals, and I like being honest about how much I paid for an outfit for your reference. I've never really gotten feedback about it before, so let me know- do you like seeing prices listed or are you not too fond of it?

My mom used to take us thrifting every once and a while when I was younger, but as I started to get older brand names suddenly became SUPER important and I pretty much stopped thrifting items- unless it was last season's abercrombie or hollister, etc. I've really gotten into thrifting the last few years though and found some great stuff. Of course, you have to keep in mind, I'm the type of person who looks at an incredibly ugly oversized grandma dress and says, "I see potential!" Despite that, I've still managed to find some wonderful items that didn't need large amounts of TLC to make them wearable. One of the most recent examples of this is this vintage(?) leopard print skirt I got at the local salvation army for $2. Such a steal! So there mom, when you thought all I brought home was more work than it was worth- Here is an example you were wrong :)

Although my outfits aren't always super put together and trendy I do try to look nicer than the average college student. This leads people to often ask me where I purchased something I'm wearing. If it's from Urban Outfitters or J.Crew or some cool vintage find I usually excitedly tell them from where, how much, and usually way too many more details they probably never wanted to know... But if I get something from somewhere not as "cool" I usually just mutter the details.

But surprisingly, I know a lot of people that are the same way. We're so proud of our "cool stuff" but not as excited to show off our cheaper things.

Personally, this all started in the 9th grade for me. One day one of the popular girls told me she loved my skirt and asked where I got it. I was new, and floored that she liked my outfit, so I replied that I had gotten it from walmart. She wrinkled her face, and as she turned to walk away replied, "ew, nevermind." For the rest of highschool if someone asked where I had gotten a Walmart item I always replied, "Thanks! But I'm not sure where it's from; it was a gift."

I know this isn't the case for everyone, but I still think it is sad that anyone at all would be ashamed at where they buy their clothes. Of course not all of us can afford the "popular" expensive brands, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be proud of our great deals!

I got my shirt for $1 at Walmart, and I got my pants for $4 at Old Navy, and I'm proud of it!

Early Morning Barista

At my job I get unlimited free coffee plus 1 free specialty drink per shift. I like to experiment with flavors, but today I made a white chocolate raspberry mocha. yum.

This is not an attempt at a sultry face. This was the "is that a ghost face." No, seriously. I got to the coffeehouse (oldest building on campus- 1886) while it was still dark this morning. Also, I was the only one there. ALSO, everyone on campus swears its haunted. Yes, I am a scaredy cat.

Lately I've kind of been slacking on my day-to-day routine, hair/face wise that is. Recently I've just let my hair air dry and do whatever it wants, which isn't a problem since it dries stick straight anyways. I usually go to bed with it wet and then the next morning just put on some foundation, eyeliner, and mascara. Literally, I'm generally out the door in 15 minutes flat. However, when running super late I have been known to cut this routine down to just 4 minutes. It's been getting old though, so today I just gave myself an extra 20 minutes to put some waves in my hair and pick out a non-jeans outfit (Although none of my full length pictures turned out). Odd, I used to hardly ever wear jeans this much. I guess that's what college does to you though.

Anyways, after I got off work at noon I went thrifting. Oh man, I hit jackpot. I got

1. Hot pink vintage blazer and skirt set (That actually fits great!)
2. Basic fitted black blazer
3. Blue and white seersucker skirt
4. Black chiffon mini skirt with tiny polka dots from express
5. Short-sleeve vintage printed top
6. Oversized cable-knit sweater
7. Leopard print top (I've been looking for a good one!)
8. Ann Taylor LOFT basic orange tee
9. The CUTEST polka dot dress (although it needs a teeny bit of work)
10. Navy blazer
11. White and navy printed blouse

All for a grand total of.... $30.

I'm so proud.

Fun Find Friday: Leas Vintage on etsy.com

Lately I've been scouring the internet for cute vintage clothes at bargain prices (I'm a college student, what can I say?) Obviously, good vintage doesn't come at cheap prices, so I hadn't had much luck until I stumbled upon LeasVintage at etsy.com. I found the site while longingly staring at a vintage dress belonging to Jessica of whatiwore, see the outfit here http://whatiwore.tumblr.com/post/365326296/what-i-wore-sailor-swap. I was really suprised and even more excited when I visited Leasvintage and discoverd her plethora of cute vintage clothes all at great prices. I bought this adorable vintage top for only $14. I can't wait to pair it with a cute skirt and wedges for summer, and with skinnys and a cardigan now. I love the top because it's obvious its truly vintage, yet it's in perfect condition!



I was very pleased with the items and service Leasvintage offered. Leas measurements are very accurate, and she is quick to respond if you have a question about any of the items. She also launders all non-dry clean items before shipping them to the buyer and ships the package in this adorable wrapping with a personal card.




I'm keeping my eye on her site for more cute things to buy, I would love to get this dress, it looks like something I could find in my mom's yearbook from the 70's- adorable!


The only slightly negative comment I could think of was that the shop does not currently have any larger sized items. Although this does make it so much easier for me to shop because I can fit most items for sale, I know it might come as a discouragement to some. Other than that, which really doesn't affect me anyhow- I love this shop!
