Two things you must do this weekend:

1. Go to Clinique in Dillards.  They are having a promotion that gives you free makeup samples if you let them do your makeup for free.  Recap: Free makeover+Free items and absolutely NO purchase necessary= a very happy me.  (While you're there, you should check out there shoe section- they're having that massive sale right. now.)  

2.  Go check out Gap.  I went in today and no lie- half the store was clearance.  Not only were there a ridiculous amount of super low cost items- it was an ADDITIONAL 40% off.  I got a dress, a pair of flare jeans, and three tops for... $50 TOTAL. Awesome? yep.

This is what happens when my boyfriend goes out of town for an entire month.  There's nobody to keep me in check with this whole shopping thing.  After all, what decent friend is going to say, "No.  You should not get that $4 top that fits you perfect and will go with everything."  

If you do know of anybody that actually would say that, please send them my way- I need them.... or not.

Today was definitely a case of the Mondays (This post is publishing a day late...)  It was surprisingly cold for mid May and definitely required a sweater and some warm mismatched socks :)  I promise these only showed for the picture though.  

Normally the dogs (we have five) pretty much ignore us when we take pictures, but today they just kept coming back... even posing for the camera at times. We got some pretty hilarious ones too... Especially of the cat who thinks he's dog.  He's my favorite... of the cats that is.

Don't get me wrong, I love skirts and dresses... but after living a month with only one pair of jeans, it was nice to pick up my long lost bootcuts (I got these sophomore year of high school) and style a simple little outfit around them. And this cardigan- love. It has that cute beading up the side that I can't wait to pair with some dresses for spring and summer.

I generally take my own pictures with a self timer that takes 5 pictures at a time. As I was posing by the lake I looked down and noticed my hand was right around duck poop. Grossssss.

I kept wearing these tights (the second identical pair I bought...) hoping that the slowly growing rip would eventually disappear. It didn't. It got larger. So again, if anyone knows a reliable pair of black sheer polka dot tights (I'm generally a good tights wearer too, I swear!) please point me in their direction!

If you counted when I posted my items, you noticed that I only had 29 items. Reason being that I knew a little while into the challenge I would realize I really "needed" something. I know from experience how discouraging this is, so to help myself out a little bit I left room for one final item. Of course I wanted more than one- a pair of black jeans, more cardigans, and more skirts. But since I don't even own black jeans and plain cardigans aren't that exciting, I decided on this bright skirt I got on clearance at Gap. I haven't worn it yet, but I'm kind of in love with it. The kind that makes you wear things multiple times over the course of a week... or a few days. But hey, as long as the same people don't see you it doesn't count, right?

Where

Today I started work at my summer internship! I'll be working at the state 4-H office in Knoxville doing marketing and event planning for the busy summer months. For those of you who aren't familiar with 4-H, it is a youth development (4-12 grade) organization aimed at developing youth in any of the 27 project areas of their choosing. When I was in 4-H I did public speaking, leadership, citizenship, and clothing (big surprise there, haha). 4-H is an incredible organization, and I truly believe it was instrumental in making me the person I am today. Since 4-H is supported by federal grants, it is available in every state- so if you know any younger kids, get them involved!

Why

Dress at work is casual, but I like to look a little nicer. Black bermuda shorts with a cardigan (office is cold!) and pink flats were a perfect easy look for the day!

Why
Whenever I'm upset, putting on a cute outfit usually helps me feel better. This entire week I've been in a jeans and top slump, and it definitely wasn't helping. Anyways, I got this skirt last year and it's actually been pretty hard for me to match things to. I love it with this embellished top- any other suggestions?
