Some Days are just Mom Days

The day I wore this outfit I realized that my top, sweater, and boots were all from my mom.  Granted, I picked them all out, but as my Aunt says, "Satisfaction over surprise..."  And then today, I finally got my Valentine's card from mom- with a picture of us at the airport the day I left for study abroad, and also a super sappy mom note.  

I'm close to my dad too- like, ridiculous "daddy's girl" type close.  But some days, you really just need your mom.  Whether its a sad breakup, a need for some instant motivation, or advice on the tough stuff, Moms can be the biggest blessing- and I can say that now that I don't live with my mom anymore ;) 

Alright, I'm done with the sap for now.  Just had to get that out there.

A Case of the Mondays

I know most people consider it casual FRIDAY, but for me it's always casual Monday. Maybe it's the fact that I get in the short habit of sleeping in and just can't adjust, or maybe I just enjoy dressing up Friday because I'm so excited for the weekend. I'm honestly not sure, I just know that Friday I will almost always have a cute outfit- but the most you're getting out of me on a Monday is some nice jeans.

Nothing wrong with some nice jeans every once and awhile though- especially when paired with a cute vintage leopard top and the comfiest sweater ever. I jokingly called it my sweater snuggie because I just love it so much. Since I snatched it off the clearance rack last week I pretty much haven't been able to take it off.

So here's to the Mondays- which I had ON Monday, but didn't post until now... Happy Hump day!

Feels Like Fall

Today (and by today I mean last Friday, since I am posting this late...) was one of those days, again. I went to bed at 4 am and then got up at 7 am all in the name of a macroeconomics exam- my 4th exam this week. Seriously, it seems like every time I have an exam in one class this semester, I have one in at least 3 others. But anyways, when I got up ridiculously early today it was way too cold- in the 30s and 40s! So, in my sleep deprived state, I grabbed my go-to skinny jeans, a big comfy sweater, owl necklace (how does it not put you in a good mood to wear something fun like this?) and just to go the extra mile for comfort/fun.... I have on leopard comfy socks under my boots ;)
