Why
My grandma bought me this skirt in 7th grade and it is definitely one of my absolute favorite pieces that I still wear all too often in the warmer months. Although I love short skirts, I usually wear longer ones when I'm in class or at work. Yay for warm weather and no need for layering up! And YAY for compliments! Doesn't it seriously make your day so much better?
Also, since I seem to be in the mood for yaying things- yay for pictures with friends :) The first thing Dawn said to me this morning was, "Can I be in your blog today?!" Yes Dawn, you can be in the blog today. In all seriousness though, I really do like her casual Americana look. It shows that all you need to pull off a cute look is some fun accessories and a bright pair of shoes.

Abby, as I looked through your blog I noticed that you have a very chic and elegant style. But do you ever wear anything but a high waisted skirt with tights? And white tights are never a good choice for anyone. I mean its great to be stylish but do you wear these outfits everyday? How can you make a blog about helping people with fashion tips when you only have one particular style? The people that dress like you don't need fashion tips. (actually they do)
ReplyDeleteI do however admire your tri-pod skillz.
Lastly, What gave you the kahones to take tons of pictures of yourself and assume you have good style?
please answer me as soon as possible, I would really like to know. Better luck next time, remember: fight the tights.
First of all, everyone has his or her own personal style. While I do enjoy wearing different stuff, girly skirts and that type of thing are what i feel best in. Sure, this type of thing may have become a little too comfortable for me, but I feel that it's definitely better than wearing jeans and college hoodies like most other college students.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying that just because I have a blog about fashion I have super amazing style, I truly just enjoy this type of fashion.
As for high waisted skirts and tights, I have slightly larger hips, and I have found that higher skirts flatter my shape more than hip hugging styles. I do wear some crazy tights, and I understand many people don't like the same things I do. I try to mix it up so I'm not always wearing black ones, and sometimes when I look back later I realize they might not have been the best thing for me. I admit, the beige tights have met their end- I love neutrals, but they weren't the best shade for me.
As always though, you can never grow if you don't risk it every once and awhile.
Thanks for your comment, it definitely does make me think more of stepping outside my comfort zone!
I would just like to say that was the best response you could have given to the anonymous poster. Great answer actually. A lot of people (even older than you) have responded in a seriously less mature way to comments like the one above.
ReplyDeleteI actually just found your blog through a comment you made on cut and sew.
I agree with you in that everyone's style is different and you should "risk it every once in a while." I'll keep watching to see what you come up with next.
Hugs to you,
Laura
