When Cheating Fails

{Skirt: Banana Republic Outlet, $25}{Sweater: Old Navy, $5}{Belt: NY& Co., with pants} {Tights: T.J. Maxx}{Flats: Payless, $15}{Bag: Charlotte Russe, $13}{Necklace: gift}

This weekend I planned on doing lots of homework. I also planned on getting ahead with outfit posts and studying for my upcoming exams... In reality, right as I was beginning all of this I got a knock on my door- from my boyfriend who lives nine hours away. Of course that pretty much got rid of all my schoolwork aspirations resulting in me staying up until 3 am last night to finish everything for today. Because of that, I planned on cheating. Yes, I PLANNED to cheat. How ironic is that? But this morning, when I was putting on my cheater outfit, I felt too guilty. And even with less than 4 hours of sleep, I pulled on my houndstooth pencil skirt and purple tights. Yay for not cheating!

On a side note: I'm a day behind on posting- but it's not because I took time off, it's just because I ran out of time to take pictures this weekend.

70ยบ in October??

{Dress:T.J. Maxx, $8}{Cardigan: Forever 21, $12}{Flats: Target, $19}
This is the Gristmill cat, Breaca. She's the sweetest thing ever- and even has a coffee named after her.

I cannot believe how warm it was today- almost into the seventies! For Pittsburgh in October, that's pretty good. Today I got up pretty late and spent most of the afternoon working in the coffee shop. It was unusually slow today, but even without the regular inflow of customers it was a pretty good day. I wanted to keep it simple- so I stuck with this plaid dress and navy cardigan. And these studded nude flats- I CANNOT stop wearing them. I don't know how, but they match with everything.

Rainy Day- Go Away

What
Trench: Kristin Davis for Belk, Gift
Dress: Old Navy, $3
Necklace: Forever 21, $6
Tights: WeLoveColors.com, $10
Flats: Ross, $12

Where
Today was one of those cold, drizzly, rainy, and just plain dull days. So for classes today I decided I wanted something a little more bright and fun...

Why
My poor little rainboots must feel like I've abandoned them, haha. Seriously though, for the first while that I had them, the very prediction of rain was enough to send me scrambling to coordinate my outfit around those perfect boots. Although I still love them, I've decided I need to be a little better at mixing things up. So, today I decided to go with my zebra trench, bright purple dress, and pop of sparkle necklace. All-in-all I liked it pretty well

Here Comes Summer

What
Skirt: Old Navy
Top: Old Navy
Cardigan: Old Navy
Flats: Old Navy
Belt: Vintage
Headband: Forever 21

Where
Classes and a Barbecue (goodness I love free food events on campus)

Why
I promise I didn't mean to wear head to toe Old Navy, but I guess that's what I end up with after taking advantage of some seriously awesome employee discounts for the past 2 years. This morning when I checked the weather (It was 40 F) I told myself for some crazy reason that this skirt and cardigan would keep me warm enough. Of course it didn't and I ended up wrapping my legs in a hoodie during class, but the 65 high today made it all work out in the end. This outfit/weather/summeritis makes me SO ready for summer.

Pretty Pictures and Pretty Tights

What
Skirt: Old Navy
Top: Wet Seal
Scarf: American Eagle
Tights: Target
Flats: Ross
Headband: Claire's
Earrings: Claires
Sunglasses: Puerto Rican Market
Bag: Forever 21
Ring: Forever 21

Where
Classes, work, and to explore the wetlands on campus

Why
I love bright tights; i feel like they're a perfect transition piece to wear during the cooler Spring months. The rest of the outfit is pretty simple to keep from going overboard with the statement tights- but I like it alot :) On another note, I haven't been able to get to Target to check out the Liberty of London collection yet, but I'm dying to! Only five more days until easter break and shopping time!!

Rainy- but not Rainy Enough

What
Top: Target
Skirt: Belk- $4!
TIghts: WeLoveColors
Flats: Ross
Earrings: Rue 21

Where
Shopping again! yay!

Why
I was so excited to wear my new rainboots today, but the rain dried up pretty fast. Oh well... Ironic that I mentioned how girls often wear black tights too often in my post earlier- but then I ended up wearing them today. Also I wish I had a longer necklace instead of earrings. Well I'm on a limited wardrobe since I'm on spring break at home. Tomorrow I will return to my creativity!
