Oh Happy Day (26!)

This was my photographer for the weekend :)

What
Dress (worn as skirt): ShopMamie.com, $30
Top: Target, $7
Sandals: Forever 21, $18
Belt: NY and Co., $4
Necklace: Lucky, $30

Where
Primanti's for lunch, and then to take a walk around the nature reserve on campus.

Remember how as a little kid you would jump of random closets, rooms, under beds, etc. to scare your friends? Well, I never grew out of that. Seriously, any of my friends can tell you, I'm constantly creeping around and popping out to scare people. For some reason, it makes me laugh just as hard as it did when I was a kid. So today, I got the bright idea to set a self timer on my camera with the intention of catching my work on film. Seriously I was SO excited about actually catching one of my surprise scares (I'm a dork, I know) However, when I jumped out from behind the corner, Greg (the boyfriend) reacted differently then I expected. Honestly, I never, ever, EVER do the whole kissing pictures thing. But I couldn't help but post this accident one, it makes me smile.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

What
Shorts: Old Navy, $4
Top: Forever 21, $17
Sandals: Forever 21, $18
Belt: Forever 21, $3
Bangles: Rue 21, $2

Where
Smokies Baseball Game

Why
I love watching sporting events at my school because since it's small, I usually know at least one person on the team. Bigger sporting events are generally a different story though- it's SO hard for me to stay focused on them. But the other night we went to the Smokies baseball game up in Sevierville, TN, and it was a blast! We even got a foam fan finger... which may or may not have happened due to the fact that it matched my belt. haha, anyways...

That reminds me, if you haven't joined livingsocial.com, you seriously need to. You select your city (although they don't have them all, they have most of the major ones) and then they send you a daily deal via email once a day in which local retailers, restaurants, and entertainers give out awesome discounts. We got this Smokies package the other week- 4 field level seats (which we got to pick), 4 drinks in souvenir cups (the little things like getting to take home a free cup make me smile), 4 hotdogs, and 4 bags of chips for a total of $25- which originally would have cost around $60!

Yay for good deals! And also for the eight full outfit posts waiting to be posted!

The Three Minute Morning

What
Pants: Old Navy, $5
Top: Forever 21, $15
Necklace: Forever 21, $6
Sandals: Forever 21, $19

Where
Another day of running around at 4-H Roundup

Why
So my room-mate and I had planned to get up around 6 am so that we could be at our awards breakfast by 7:15 (It started at 7:30) However, this morning went a little like this...

6:00- "We don't really NEED to get up now... we can sleep a few more minutes"
7:22- "ABBY! IT'S 7:22! We didn't wake up!!"
7:22- throw on random outfit
7:23- brush hair and grab a ponytail holder just in case
7:24- concealer, mascara, lipgloss
7:25- Literally RUN across campus to breakfast
7:30- Smile and walk into breakfast

No lie, we made it on time... well, I made it on time. My room-mate walked in around 7:33, which is still pretty dang impressive.

So, sorry for slightly messy hair and lack of creativity today, but for getting ready in barely 3 minutes, I'm actually kind of proud :)

50's Anyone?

What
Shirtdress: Forever 21, $30
Heels: Random store in LA, $8
Necklace: Forever 21, $4

Where
Out to lunch and a movie with my friend Ashley. Can anyone else hardly wait for Sex and the City 2? I never followed the series, but I LOVED the first movie.

Why
I love shirt-dresses because they're so simple and easy to just throw on and look nice. This one is especially nice for several reasons:
  1. It was only $30 at Forever 21
  2. It has a really cute floralish/featherish print
  3. The placement of the waist and pockets makes legs look super long
I also love these shoes- for the first few minutes they're on. After that I'm ready for some cute sandals :)

Up in the Air

What
Dress: ShopMamie.com, $29
Top: Old Navy, $5
Belt: New York and Company, $4
Sandals: Charlotte Russe, $14
Leaf Ring: Charlotte Russe, $4
Black and Blue Cat Eye Sunglasses: Charlotte Russe, $4

Where
A quick run to the mall and then work and classes. Today was our last day of classes! Although I'll miss all my northern friends I'm pretty excited to get home and start my summer internship.

Why
While searching for fun fashion blogs I recently ran across shopmamie.com. It's an awesome online boutique in which every item is handpicked by the two owners- and everything is under $100! I think I'll be doing a fun find friday article on them sometime soon, so be sure to check back!

Anyways, I love to wear random prints and accessories. 1) Because they're cute and unique and 2) Because they almost always serve as a conversation starter.

The print on this adorable sweetheart-neckline dress is actually roses and airplanes. I'm in love. The dress is girly with a fun twist, which is definitely a way I would describe my personal style. To make it appropriate for class I layered it over a black top and added some simple accessories and sandals- but I can't wait to pair it with my cork and black wedges during the summer.

Although I repeatedly wear every piece of clothing I have (if you don't like it enough to wear it more than once, don't buy it!) I usually try and space out the unique things and wear them different each time. However, I can tell I'll be wearing this little dress quite a bit in the summer :) Do you have any items that you repeat often? Let me know!
