Red Lips and Big Flowers

Dress: Thirfted and hemmed, $2
Belt: Steve and Barry's, $8
Wedges: TJ Maxx, $20
Earrings: Claire's, $3
Purse: Vintage,  I think it might be my great grandma's?

I promise I have been getting dressed and taking pictures the past few days, but with the warm weather outside and the last few days without work, I just couldn't bring myself to come inside and blog.  So here I am.  And here is what I wore last Thursday.  We had a little bar-b-que birthday dinner for one of my mom's friends, and then I ditched the purse/heels/lipstick for some sandals and headed downtown for Sundown in the City, a free summer concert series in Knoxville.  Even though there's usually good bands, I never really go for the music.  To me, the best part is the ice cream and people watching (They estimate that 10-15k people come on good weather nights!)

Alright, back out to the sun!

I have blogs already written for the next few days though, yay for being productive :)

Just a little Vent

{Top: idk, Mom's}
{Jeans: T.J. Maxx, $20}
{Flats: Modcloth, $25}
{Blazer: Thrifted, $4}
{Necklace: Forever 21, gift}
{Purse: Charlotte Russe, $13}
{Scarf: Old Navy, $1}

I consider myself a generally positive person. I honestly do see the bright side of (most) things and I'll do just about anything to avoid a fight with my friends or family. But dang, sometimes I wish I could let out all my frustrations and vent to the world. I won't make you all listen to all that because I do want to keep the tone of this blog positive. But I will say... Be careful with the words you use to your loved ones. For instance: When using the phrase "Guess what?!" You should generally follow it up with something positive.

Correct Example: "Guess what?! I got this awesome silk scarf for ONE DOLLAR!"
Incorrect Example: "Guess what?! The divorce finally went through!"

Whew, ok. That's the end of my venting for now. Again, I don't mean for this to be a negative post in anyways. Actually when I told the story above to some of my friends it even got a few laughs.

I hope everyone else is having a good beginning to the week... And if any of you have days like me and just need to vent- feel free to email me! I'm always willing to listen :)

Workin' Girl

What
Shorts: Gap Outlet, $5
Tank Top: Target, $9
Cardigan: Target, $12
Necklace: Puerto Rican Market, 50¢
Flats: Target, $9
Bag: Ross, $20

Where
Today I started work at my summer internship! I'll be working at the state 4-H office in Knoxville doing marketing and event planning for the busy summer months. For those of you who aren't familiar with 4-H, it is a youth development (4-12 grade) organization aimed at developing youth in any of the 27 project areas of their choosing. When I was in 4-H I did public speaking, leadership, citizenship, and clothing (big surprise there, haha). 4-H is an incredible organization, and I truly believe it was instrumental in making me the person I am today. Since 4-H is supported by federal grants, it is available in every state- so if you know any younger kids, get them involved!

Why
Dress at work is casual, but I like to look a little nicer. Black bermuda shorts with a cardigan (office is cold!) and pink flats were a perfect easy look for the day!
