This time the tights will last.

Dress: Forever 21, $20
Tights: Urban Outfitters, boyfriend :)
Ruffle Top (Under Dress): Forever 21, $15
Cardigan: Gap, $10
Flats: Target, $9
Necklace: Puerto Rico, 50¢
Coat: Macy's, $30
Purse: Thrifted, $4

First of all, sorry for the dirty shoes.  Second of all, this could be one of my favorite outfits ever.  Unfortunately this was overshadowed by a few bad things, such as the freezing weather, an inability to decide on absolutely anything, and the loss of daylight (and therefore the not so desirable picture taking conditions) which pretty much just created a bad mood for me.  Oh well, we all have those days.  What can you do??

On a much brighter note, Greg came to visit this weekend and we got to dress up for Spring Cotillion (a dance my school hosts.)  So I have plenty of fun pictures to share :)

Back to the Sunny Side

{Skirt: H&M, $17}
{Lace Top: Charlotte Russe, $7}
{Belt: Aeropostale, about 6 years ago...}
{Tights: Mom's from high school}
{Boots: thrifted, $4}
{Necklace: Puerto Rico, $20}

I apologize for my little rant yesterday- but hey, everybody has their days... to combat my bad days lately, here are some really great things that happened today:

  • I didn't rip these tights- well, I didn't rip them further. There are two neat little holes on the knees (I wore them backwards today) and they haven't run at alllll. Crazy.
  • I'm only 2 classes away from a Spanish minor- and I wasn't even trying.
  • I was gifted a gigantic jar of nutella Sunday night- which has since become my favorite thing ever.
  • There was a (lacrosse?) game going on right out side the window of my corporate finance class this afternoon- and they played 90s music for a large chunk of class. oh yessss.
  • Best friend from Canada told me she was sending me a package! Because she moved in the 8th grade- we've only seen each other 3 or 4 times since then. But seriously, I know I can always always always count on her. Now that's something awesome.

Well that's all for today. I hope you all are having a wonderful start to the week!

Polka Dot Tights- Attempt 3.

{Dress: Forever 21, $20}
{Cardigan: J. Crew, $15}
{Tights: Urban Outfitters, gift}
{Flats: Target, $9}
{Pearl Necklace: Puerto Rico, 50¢}
{Chain Necklace: Forever 21, $6}

Greg's always been willing to help with blogging/outfits/etc., but he's usually a little hesitant- especially when it comes to taking pictures in overly populated areas. And once he confessed he didn't always read what I wrote on my blog, but just liked to look at the pictures I always gave him a hard time. So can you imagine my surprise (and excitedness!) when I received these polka dot tights in the mail, compliments of Greg. He actually had been reading my blog- not just looking at pictures, and when he read that my favorite polka dot tights (pair two...) had finally died, he had a new pair sent. Isn't that cute? I think I'll keep him ;)

Friday = Short Post... and Dairy Queen

^This is what it looks like when the wind knocks my camera down.^

{Dress: Old Navy, $4}
{Cardigan: Banana Republic, $25}
{Flats: Target, $9}
{Polka Dot Tights: Target, $10}
{Koi Necklace: Forever 21, $4}

I picked the wrong day to wear lipstick. It was warm again- but so windy that there wasn't a second my hair wasn't in my face. So what did I do? Got a mini blizzard (mmmm French Silk) and said the heck with it.

So... That's all for now. It's a Friday night and I'm going to Denny's with my friends. Plans anyone?

The Curse of the Gristmill and the Polka Dot Tights

{Top: GAP Outlet}{Skirt: Target}{Tights: Target}{Shoes: Payless}{Belt: Target}{Sweater: Gift} {Necklace: Forever 21}

I bought 3 things on black Friday: a scarf, comfy socks, and these polka dot tights which I wore for the first time yesterday... And wouldn't you know that the second I sat down at work I snagged them and ruined them. On the very first day! ugh.

Well I'd write more about my outfit or my day or whatever, but I haven't slept in almost 48 hours courtesy of 2 exams, a final presentation, and an art project. Sooooo on that note, I'm gonna head to bed ridiculously early so I can be back with another outfit post tomorrow.

Have a good Wednesday!

Farewell Tights

{Dress: Fashion Bug}{Tights: Vintage, my mom}{Cardigan: Old Navy}{Flats: Target}
{Necklace: Puerto Rican Store}

Seeing as though I would be spending most of the day at the coffee shop, I decided I wanted something comfortable and relaxed. I picked this solid black layered dress and paired it with my mom's vintage tights and a beige cardigan. I felt very artsy for some reason (I got compliments from 2 art majors today though, so I consider my hypothesis proven, lol.)

Anyways, to get to work I either drive the very short distance, or like today, I walk. On the walk I encounter a long outdoor staircase. The steps vary in size and unfortunately for me I didn't pay any attention to that. I tripped down the concrete stairs- and I don't mean a little whoops, I mean a full out tumble face forward- laptop in one hand, drink in the other. I was so focused on saving what was in my hands, the laptop- not the drink, that I caught myself solely on my knees. Luckily, I saved my laptop (and my drink.) Unluckily, I skinned both my knees 5 year old style- and ruined one of my absolute favorite pairs of tights. So please ignore the random holes in the pictures. Also, please let me know if you happen to run across a pair of maroon polka dot tights.

Some Floral for a warm Spring Day

What
Tank Top: H&M
Skirt: Abercrombie and Fitch
Tights: Vintage from my mom :)
Boots: Burlington Coat Factory
Denim Blazer: TJ Maxx
Necklace: Also vintage from my mom

Where
A full day of classes, and then to the Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve on campus to take some pictures

Why
This week we have actually had amazing weather. It's stayed around mid- high fifties during the day! Does the fact that we still have this much snow tell you how much we had when it was cold?? Anyways, I actually wore this outfit with some royal blue/navy tights, and a navy cardigan. Although it was pretty cute, I opted to change into this combination. I usually never repeat entire outfits, but I kinda love this :) And although I know most people don't consider this pattern mixing, I do love the subtle difference of the polka dot tights and the floral print skirt.
